Teeth

My McBean is getting his first two permanent teeth. Unfortunately, he has not lost the 2 baby teeth yet. The new ones are peeking up right behind the old ones. I called the dentist and we have an appointment in a couple weeks. He wants to make sure that the permanent ones are able to come in properly and not cause any future problems. When I started thinking about the McBean losing his teeth, I was worried about his reaction to wiggly teeth and the blood and everything. It never occurred to me to worry about something like this. Hopefully we have noticed the problem early enough and can get it taken care of.

In other news, the McBean had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa in Iowa. It is good to have him home. He went without his meds for the whole time he was away and did great.

We are looking forward to heading to Lake Orion next weekend to visit Grandma and Papa. Plus the cousins will be there. I know McBean is looking forward to seeing the kids and spending time with Grandma and Papa while Bob and I are in Baltimore for Bob's conference.

7 Years

The McBean is off frolicking in Iowa with grandma and grandpa. I am sure that he is having a fabulous time being the center of attention and playing outside with the dog and all the cats.

Bob and I are celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary (June 8) with a whole week of fun. Movies, dinner, maybe some golf. Without the McBean, we can be much less structured with our schedule. Planning ahead is an option instead of a requirement and we are free to change our plans at any time, which is a nice change. We are even going to try to see 2 movies tonight! When we were first married and living in Kansas, we went to the movies. A lot! It was especially nice to go in the summer in Kansas when I was pregnant. The movie theater a/c was a great daytime escape from the heat.

The week will go fast. And I will be so glad to get the McBean back on Saturday, but it is nice to have a few days of grownup fun. Good for the marriage.

Road Trip

We are headed to Missouri tomorrow, by way of Grinnell, to attend a wedding celebration for our friends and then meet the Iowa grandparents to hand over the McBean for a week.

We are spending Friday night and a part of Saturday morning in Grinnell. We are even staying at Grinnell House. As we have not been back to campus in a while, I am looking forward to exploring and seeing the changes that have been made. It will be fun to show the McBean around. We are also going to have a visit with our friends who live and town and see their new little girl.

I am also very excited about having a McBean-free week. It is our 7th wedding anniversary. Bob and I plan to go out to dinner, see a movie and even play some golf. All of which are much easier to do without the McBean.

The McBean will have lots of fun on the farm and even plans to do some fishing with Grandpa. It works out great for everyone.
